It is very difficult to choose what would my ideal job. I think I would be very happy in almost any job that I know that I'm doing something good for other people.
I have always wanted to work on a municipality because I think there you can do a lot of things. You can apply all management knowledge, and you can fix people’s problems quickly and effectively. I think the difference between a municipality and another public organization is that in others organizations there is more “bureaucracy”, meaning that doing things is more difficult and slow.
Perhaps my ideal job would be mayor of my city, La Serena. I think there are a lot of things to do in the city. In order to do this job you need leadership, management knowledge, public vocation and most of all, you need to win the election, which means that you need people support.
Maybe wanting to be mayor is asking for a lot, but I would be very happy working in La Serena municipality doing other stuff, resolving problems or so.
I think I would be pretty good at these jobs most of all because I want the best for the city, and I will be able to apply all the knowledge learned in the career

My favourite piece of art is “The Last Judgement” by Michelangelo. It is located in the altr wall of the Sistine Chapel, in Vatican City. The painting is a fresco, meaning that it was painted using this technicque; it looks like more “wet” and real than other paintings. This technichque was very common on Renaissance.
Michelangelo was a renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, poet and engineer, he ir the author of many piece of arts such as many frescoes of the Sistine Chapel, David, Pietá, and he was also the architect of Saint Peter’s Basilisca.
Long time ago I heard about it but I wasn’t interested. Then I had the opportunity to travel to Vatican City and when I saw it I felt very impressed because it is really amazing.
I like it because of what it represents: it shows important eclesiastic people in the “purgatory”, the judgement that sends you to heaven or hell. Even if you are not catholic you can see the beauty of “The Last Judgement”.

Ken Robinson's Speech.
Traditionally, schools teach mathematics, language, humanities, etc. There is a kind of empty space on subjects such as music and arts. Even if there are classes of these subjects, are not enough. There is a conception dated since XIX century that considers arts as secondary, even tertiary; this conception still being used. If this continues like this there will be a lot of “classical” professionals and no musicians, no artist, no dancers, and so on.
I completely agree with Sir Ken Robinson. Schools kills creativity because is like a systematic program, with no space for the uncommon, no space for the children to express themselves, no space for imagination, no space for creativity. Leaving the kids without creativity is like “cutting their wings”.
Another important topic is that adults have fear to mistake because when they were children they were not allowed to be creative. That means that this is a vicious circle. We must do something now. However, making mistakes is not a synonym of creativity, but making mistakes is part of the process to be creative.

Woodrow Wilson
I think the best on my field is Thomas Woodrow Wilson, best known by his middle name.
He studied law to eventually enter politics. After some bad experiences working in his law practice, he decided to apply to a History and Political Science Ph. D.After that, he began writing about the discipline. His writings are so good and popular that he is considered the “father” of the Public Administration studies in the United States. This is because Public Administration studies have two "streams": the european and the american.

Wilson’s writings are the bases of the actual studies of Political Science, at least in the American stream. They are very useful for many students and researchers all around the world.
The reason why I mostly admire Woodrow Wilson is that he was a President of the United States, meaning that he was able to put all his knowledge into practice. This means that he was the “ideal” person occupying the charge. He stills remains the only historian and political scientist to become president. Wilson is also known because he was President during World War I.

My career,
Since I was younger, I’ve always liked political sciences, politics, and the government in general. I’m studying this because I think Public Administration is very related to these areas. It has a very big area of studies, you learn from Law to Math; you learn English as well.
Professionals in this area need to have leadership, ethical principles and most of all a vocational interest. They contribute to society in many ways: helping to make and apply the public politics, helping other people with their problems, etc. They mostly work in the governmental organisms such as Ministries, Municipalities and other organizations; they can also work in non governmental organizations.
I actually don’t have a favourite subject, but if I need to choose I would choose “Elements of Law” because I have always liked Law as well.
I don’t know if this career is my “really vocation” but for the moment I like it very much.. I’m very happy with my choice.

A career related web-site.
I actually don’t have a favourite web-site related to the career, but I think the website www.gobierno.cl is pretty useful to know what the government is up to. I don’t visit it very often, I visit it about one time for week or so. It also has many links to other interesting web-sites related with the government such as the Ministries, the Congress, etc…
I found the site long time ago because the address is a little obvious and I also watched some advices on TV.
I like the site because you can find a lot of information about the government, such as projects, laws, the names of the authorities, etc. I think is very useful to know who are these people, what are the projects and what are going to do with you this laws or projects. It also can help us to do some jobs, I remember that I used the site to look for information to some school jobs.

My favourite piece of technology.
My favourite piece of technology is my iPod. An iPod is a mp3, photos and video player of the Apple brand, it isn’t too big nor too small. You can save a lot of songs, videos, photos and files because it also works as a hard disk. You can see the photos on its screen. My iPod has 60gb of space, I think the new ones have about 120gb.
I got it about three years ago as a birthday present. I mostly use it to listen to music; I don’t use it too much to watch videos or photos. Sometimes I use it to save some files as well. I use it every night when I’m trying to sleep, when I’m studying and when I travel.
I like it because it has enough space to save many songs and there’s no need to replace songs or change cds like a pen drive or a cd player would. Without it I think I would have a pen drive or something like that to listen to music, but it would definitively not be the same.
